The Three Rivers Arts Festival for 2015 is jammed packed with new fun and exciting activites, arts, and performers. This years musical lineup is filled with tons of bands and singers including Neko Case, Richard Thompson, Milo Greene, Jenny Lewis, Black Little Birds, Carribean Vibes Steelband, The Love Letters and many more. The live theater/dance shows that will be performing is Maree ReMalia, Alexandra Bodnarchuk, and Jasmine Hearn. Literary art that will be featured is Dave Newman, Michelle Naka Pierce, and Words Without Walls. And of course we can’t forget about the main event and reason for this festival…the art! There will be showcases of public art, exhibitions, and an artist market. Plus there will be a mixture of visual and tech art. The whole vision behind creating the arts festival is because of three reasons.

1. Art matters,
2. People talk and make art
3. Everything is presented from fun to wow that will entertain the festival goers.

Another cool thing about this festival is that it’s free, it’s in the city of steel..Pittsburgh and there’s a lot of stuff to do for family and friends which means that there’s endless amounts of fun!

Now when you think of festival you obviously should include food, I mean who doesn’t love grubbing on a variety yummy deliciousness. In the center of the 10 day fiesta which is located at Point State Park there are a variety of food vendors surrounding the park so the  amount of food is endless from salty dishes to sweet treats. The food vendors that are participating in the fest are Food Truck Friday and Food Courts. Food Truck Friday will happen every Friday with Pittsburgh’s most popular food trucks serving up the good good! There are also two food courts that are available to visitors. One of them is located in Point State Park while the other is located at the Gateway Center. Or if you don’t feel like wasting money on buying food you can easily pack your own, bring a blanket, chairs, and coolers and have yourself a little picnic in the park with family and friends or your lover.

But we can’t forget about the kids either, which is why the festival is full of face painters and caricaturists. So while your kids are being painted as tigers,princesses, pirates, and whatever else their little hearts desire, you can be getting a quick cartoony portrait of you and your significant other to take home and share with others.

Since this festival is in the summer that means that people can finally get half naked. Summer trends will definitely be on point with everybody rockin their best festival fashion and looking bomb under the sun while vibing to music, viewing art, eating fried foods and sweets, and sipping a cold one.

So if you live in the Pittsburgh area and haven’t attended this huge festival then your missing out and need to come and if your out of town you should plan a trip because the party lasts for 10 days!
